Hi players,

I'm doing a quick poll to see who uses the game launcher (then clicks start) versus who uses the manual patch and runs from bin.

The reason I would like to know is because if the auto updater is not working for a lot of people, then I'm going to recode it so it is more compatible. Our game launcher is professionally programmed, but it is about 3 years old. We want it to be as convenient as possible for everyone to play and I think we can all admit that manual patches are a tad less convenient.

Thanks for for your help!

PS: Currently working on Patch 12.8 with an expected release of Sunday, then Patch 12.9 scheduled for next week.

I use the launcher to update my stuff, then close it and then use this method, otherwise crashes, no client execution, no loading, etc. Using Win10.

  1. Go to "dkrising.exe" inside "Dekaron Rising > bin" folder and create a desktop shortcut.
  2. Then right-click it and select Properties. Go to Compatibility tab
  3. Select the box were it says "Run this program in compatibility with:". In the drop-down menu below select Windows 7.
  4. A little lower select the box where it says "Run this program as administrator".
  5. Every time you start the game, start it from that shortcut. Update with the launcher, close the launcher, open game from the shortcut.
  • (Optional): To change the shortcut icon:
  • Right-click it and select Properties. Go to Shortcut tab
  • Select Change Icon...
  • Select Browse...
  • Go to the folder where you installed the game and select RisingLauncher.exe
  • Click Open, Ok, Ok.

If your client is still crashing,

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel > System.
  2. Go to the Advanced tab and access the Performance Settings.
  3. Go to the Data Execution Prevention tab.
  4. Click "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:"
  5. then click "Add" and browse to where you installed the game, "Dekaron Rising > bin" folder and select "dkrising.exe".
  6. Click "Apply", "Ok", restart PC.
